Laser Therapy
No doctor referral required
Class IV laser therapy is the most powerful and deep-penetrating laser available today. Class IV Lasers can reach deep into damaged tissues in the body to accelerate healing, decrease inflammation, and reduce pain. Class IV lasers have the ability to reach the target dosage in very little time which results in quick outcomes.
What Is Class IV Laser Therapy?
Class IV laser therapy stimulates the healing response in soft tissue at a cellular level. It works through a process called photobiostimulation. When the laser is focused on a specific tissue, increased amounts of ATP (adenosin tri-phosphate) are produced. ATP is the substance responsbile for energy production. This creates a cascade of cellular activity within the cell, which stimluates healing to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, promote wound healing, and soft tissue repair.
Note: All lasers are not equal. Class III, Class II, and Class I lasers have a power range between 5 milliwatts to a maximum of 500 milliwatts. Our Class IV has a power output of 4000 milliwatts. The power and penetration of the Class IV system is not attainable with with lower class devices.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it hurt? What does the treatment feel like?
There is little or no sensation during treatment. Occasionally one feels mild, soothing warmth. There is no associated discomfort during laser application.
How long does treatment take?
The typical course of treatment is 10 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. Acute conditions may be treated daily, particularly if they are accompanied by significant pain. More chronic problems respond better when treatments are recieved 2 to 3 times a week. Treatment plans are determined on an individual basis.
How many treatment does it take?
This is dependent on the nature of the condition being treated. For some acute conditions, 2 to 6 visits may be sufficient. More chronic conditions may require 6-10 sessions. Conditions such as severe arthritis may require periodic care to control pain.
Are the results long lasting?
Therapeatic laser therapy is about healing the damaged tissue; it’s not about masking the condition. When you feel better from therapy it’s because you have successfully responded to the treatment, and the tissue has healed.
